The festival for its eighth edition reopens the doors of Albergo Diurno Venezia, a bath house designed for travelers built in the twenties by the architect Portaluppi, located under Piazza Oberdan, in the heart of the city.

Protagonist of the eighth edition is the video artist Ali Kazma (Istanbul, 1971) with over 20 videos including a work shown for the first time. The artist, represented in Milan by gallery Francesca Minini, since 2002 has been focused in building a video archive dedicated to human condition. In 2017 the exhibition centre Jeu de Paume in Paris has dedicated to Kazma a solo show.

MINE is the title of the eighth edition, curated by Laura Lamonea, an explicit reference to the film by Kazma with the same name. Mine is also the continuation of the investigation of the subterranean by artists who dig into the real, exploring human activities in relation to spatiotemporal intervals and voids.

In dialogue with the videos, the new new sculptural works in ceramic and porcelain by the artists  Diego Cibelli, winner of the open call, Oli Bonzanigo and Caterina Morigi, produced during the artistic residency in collaboration with Istituto a indirizzo raro della ceramica e della porcellana Giovanni Caselliheadquarters of the prima Real Fabbrica della Porcellana and the Museum of Capodimonte.

Every 60 minutes there will be a guided tour, available on reservation in Italian and English. Moreover, during the festival, it will be possible to take part in a workshop held by by the masters of ceramics of the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte, and experiment with their support firing, patinas and decorations. The workshop will be held at the Libreria Popolare, in via Tadino 18 three minutes by walk from the Albergo Diurno.
